Are You Looking For A Care Home or Nursing Home? Fill out the call back form below and we will be in touch

Keeping the mind and body active isn’t just important for your health – it’s also essential to living a rich and fulfilling life, whether you’re eight years old or eighty.

At LuxuryCare, the well-being of the people in our care is always at the forefront of our minds. That’s why we regularly organise a diverse range of activities, days out, and events for them to enjoy.

We want everyone to have a great time, whether they’re receiving residential care, nursing care, or any other kind of care. We’re always looking for new ways to make our residents smile and create memories that they’ll treasure. Read on to learn more about the kinds of activities and days out they can join in on!

    Events and Activities

When organising activities, we make sure the things we choose help develop camaraderie, encourage gentle movement, and promote a general sense of well-being. All the activities we offer are tailored to cater to the needs of older individuals and those living with dementia.

Here are just a few of the many activities we’ve arranged in the past:

    • Arts and crafts
    • Flower arranging and gardening
    • Woodworking
    • Singalongs
    • Cream tea and coffee mornings
    • Baking
    • Quizzes and bingo
    • Nativities and musicals
    • Baking and pizza making
    • Cheese and wine evenings
    • Skittles
    • Inflatable darts
    • Basketball and balloon tennis
    • Firework shows

We want each resident to feel part of our tight-knit local community, so we frequently organise visits from local schools, play groups, and pet charities. We also hold various fêtes and fairs in our garden that friends and family are welcome to attend.

    Trips and Days Out

On top of our in-house activities, we organise regular trips out to local areas of interest. Some of our most common trips include:

    Public Gardens & Poole Quay

Poole is home to a variety of gardens open for public viewing. Our personal favourite is Compton Acres, a 10-acre garden blooming with colourful flowers and plants. They have five different themed areas, including an Italian Garden, Wooded Valley, and even a Japanese Zen garden! Each garden changes beautifully with the seasons, making them a sight to behold.

Poole Quay is a beautiful spot to take a leisurely stroll. Our residents enjoy watching boats gently bob in the harbour, browsing quaint nearby shops, and breathing in the fresh sea air. And of course – no trip to the Quay is complete without a delicious ice cream!

    Museums

We frequently organise visits to the various museums located throughout the Poole area. Our residents get to discover Poole’s fascinating harbour-town roots at the Poole Old Lifeboat Museum and Shop, or delve into the archaeological history surrounding the ancient port town at the Poole Museum.

    Theatres and Cinemas

Whether we’re off to watch a thought-provoking drama, classic musical, or even a raucous panto, a night out in the Lighthouse or Pavilion theatre is always one to remember. We also organise trips to see the latest blockbusters in the Odeon.

    Join In on the Fun!

Of course, that’s not all we get up to. We’ve also organised trips to bowling alleys, art galleries, the New Forest, the Tank Museum, and much more!

We’re always searching for new activities and experiences for our residents, and we do our best to honour all requests from them and their families.

Want to try out some of our activities for yourself? You and your loved one are welcome to visit our home and experience them first hand! Don’t hesitate to reach out to our team – we’re always happy to show you around and answer any questions you may have.
