Luxury Care Becomes Veteran Friendly Accredited
At Luxury Care, we are proud to announce that our homes have been awarded accreditation under the Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF). This is a national initiative that ensures care providers deliver tailored, respectful, and supportive services to veterans and their families.
Why the Veteran Friendly Framework matters
Across England and Wales, it’s estimated that 1 in 12 care home residents are veterans. Many have dedicated their lives to serving our country, yet their experiences and needs have often gone unrecognised in traditional care settings.
The Veteran Friendly Framework, developed in partnership with the Royal British Legion, Royal Star & Garter, and the NHS Veterans’ Covenant Healthcare Alliance, sets out clear standards for homes to meet to truly support those who have served.
What it means for our residents
Being accredited means our homes have committed to:
- Identifying veterans and ensuring their service is recognised within personalised care plans.
- Training staff so they understand the unique challenges veterans may face, from physical health to social and emotional wellbeing.
- Connecting veterans with local and national services, charities, and networks that can offer additional support.
- Honouring service through events, activities, and community links that celebrate and acknowledge the contribution of veterans.
More than a framework – a promise
For us, this accreditation is about more than a certificate. It is a promise to residents and their families that veterans will always be treated with the dignity, respect, and understanding they deserve.
Our Home Admissions Coordinator, Bex, explains: “The VFF gives us the tools to ask the right questions, connect with the right people, and celebrate the service of our veteran residents. It’s about making them feel seen, valued, and at home.”
Looking ahead
We are proud to stand alongside other Veteran Friendly accredited homes and will continue to develop new ways to celebrate our residents’ service, from storytelling and memory-sharing projects to partnerships with local veteran groups.
